Welcome to the Chinese Musician Restaurant, a hidden gem located at 151 Greenpoint Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11222.

This restaurant strikes a perfect balance between casual takeout and a comfortable sit-down experience. It’s the ideal spot for those who appreciate delicious Chinese cuisine without the frills of high-end dining.

As I delved into their diverse menu, I was particularly drawn to their tofu dishes. The Tofu with Black Bean Sauce and the Mapo Tofu with Ground Meat stand out not just for their flavor, but for their balance of spice and freshness. Priced between $13.75 and $18.25, these dishes reflect a thoughtful approach to ingredients, offering a delightful experience for both vegetarians and meat lovers alike.

The pork offerings are equally tempting. The Sweet and Sour Pork and Double Sautéed Pork provide a comforting yet exciting taste, with each dish showcasing the restaurant's commitment to traditional flavors. Customers, like Chris P. and Josh B., rave about the quality and portion sizes, noting how these dishes stand out even in a saturated market.

One of the signature highlights that caught my attention is their Sauteed Fillet of Fish. It allows you to choose your sauce, making it a versatile choice for any palate and a true representation of the restaurant's dedication to flavor. Priced at $18.25, it feels like an excellent value for a dish of this caliber.

M K. shared their love for the Orange Beef, stating it’s among the best in NYC, underscoring the restaurant’s strength in creating standout dishes. The Pork Chow Fun also comes highly recommended, asserting that both are must-tries during your visit.

The ambiance of the Chinese Musician Restaurant is casual yet inviting, perfect for a quick meal or a leisurely dining experience. The humble nature of the place lies in its authenticity, reminding us of the roots of Chinese culinary traditions while also blending in modern sensibilities, as pointed out by customers like Benny R..

I ordered from a delivery food app. General Tso's Chicken with chicken fried rice/Homemade ice tea. It was very good and a good portion. If I had read these reviews, I would have NOT ordered from this place. 30 min delivery. Very humble deliveryman. I'll roll my dice again. LOL

So, I like this place but I think you need to weigh out what it is. So many Chinese places are either take-out only holes in the wall, or more high end sit down places. This place is more square in the middle. If you're looking for authentic hot pot, this is not the place for you. The food quality (in my opinion) is a small notch above the hole in the wall place (not by much) but I like the option that you can sit here for a meal if you want, or do a quick take out or deliver place. This is my go-to chinese place in the area.

While Greenpoint surely has more glamorous spots where you maybe can find Newton Creek Striped Bass with McCarren Park-foraged nettles in lime-cilantro reduction, Chinese Restaurant is a solid practitioner of an older, humbler tradition. I didn't want to spend too much time reading the lengthy menu with closing time approaching, so I opted for roast pork with mixed vegetables. The meat was a knockout, but I enjoyed the crisp broccoli and other fresh vegetables.

I never dined in, however I order delivery from Chinese Musician restaurant whenever I am around the area visiting. I always order their orange beef and pork chow fun, and taste is always spot on, especially their orange beef I really think its one of the best in NYC. I can't speak for other dishes or their dine-in services, but those two dishes and the delivery is always great.

I ordered takeout from this spot and really liked it! The general tsos chicken and sesame shrimp were the overall favorites. The vegetable kebabs were alright. I'd skip the eggplant in garlic sauce and Dan Dan noodles next time. Overall, I'm sure I'll order from them again!

My favorite restaurant to go to for General Tso's chicken, double sauteed pork, and butterfly shrimp. I wish I lived closer so I could get delivery and satisfy my craving for comfort food.

Food came hot and delicious! I like that the general tso is spicy. This is a good typical Chinese-American spot. Have ordered from here multiple times.
